1 MemberDuke Africans in Medicine (AIM) (Duke AIM)
Africans in Medicine (A.I.M.) was borne out of the realization that there was a need for the large number of African Medical Profesionals scattered throughout the United States to establish a collective home base. Therefore, A.I.M is a national organization of African Medical Professionals in United States that acknowledges and affirms the unique experience of being African in the Medical Field and the distinctive cultural dynamics which influence our realities.
The Mission of this organization is to forge a cohesive unit that will harness our diverse intellectual and creative energies towards exerting a positive and progressive impact in our society both in the United States and in the continent of Africa.
Particularly, our Duke chapter will serve as a forum for all Africans in the different schools (Medicine, Law, Business, Public Policy etc) to come together for the purpose of highlighting health issues in the continent of Africa and exploring opportunities for improvement.
