ArtsConnect is a relatively young but quickly-growing service organization that seeks to interest and engage elementary-age children in the Durham community in various forms of the arts. Members design lesson plans which are implemented during weekly hour-long workshops at various afterschool programs (currently at Emily K and West End Community Centers). These lesson plans aim to create a fun, exciting opportunity for the kids to gain hands-on experience in all forms of the arts -- music, dance, theater, visual arts, creative writing, etc.

As a whole, ArtsConnect provides an extremely rewarding and enjoyable opportunity to work with children who may not receive exposure to the arts in other settings.
